LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Jan. 28, 2014) – United Tote announced today that it has signed a multi-year deal with Canterbury Park, located in Shakopee, Minn., to provide pari-mutuel tote services. This marks the first time since Canterbury Park’s re-opening in 1995 that they have switched tote providers.

United Tote is a leading supplier of totalisator systems, equipment and technology that processes wagers and payouts at leading horse racing facilities such as Arlington International, Churchill Downs, Keeneland and The Fairgrounds.

“Canterbury Park looks forward to building a relationship with United Tote,” Vice President of Racing Operations Eric Halstrom said. “Customer service is a priority at Canterbury and United Tote offers state-of-the-art equipment that will enhance our guest experience.”

Nate Simon, President of United Tote, said the system will be in place and ready to go in March, well before live thoroughbred racing begins at Canterbury Park on May 16, 2014.

“We are excited to work with Canterbury Park to offer their players the very latest in tote technology,” Simon said. “United Tote’s wagering systems process more than $7 billion annually in global pari-mutuel handle, and are used on many of the biggest days in racing, like The Super Derby, The Breeders' Cup, and The Kentucky Derby. We look forward to offering that same reliability and high-quality customer service for years to come.”
