Arlington Park Transition to United Tote Complete
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (Jan. 6, 2012) – After six months of meticulous planning, all 11
Illinois Trackside locations as well as Mr. D.’s Sports Bar in the Arlington Park grandstand
unveiled state of the art wagering terminals which provide customers the very latest in wagering
technology from United Tote. The successful conversion took place in the overnight hours of
Tuesday, Jan. 3.
The conversion involved installing 300 United Tote F4 terminals, which offer customers the
latest in tote technology, across the Arlington Park wagering network, which stretches from the
Mississippi River to Lake Michigan and from Interstate 80 to the Illinois-Wisconsin border.
Approximately 30 people were deployed to the 11 locations to assist in the conversion.
“We were excited to work with Arlington Park, one of our sister companies, on the
conversion to United Tote technology at the racetrack and at Arlington’s 11 OTBs,” United Tote
President Ben Murr said. “The transition was seamless for Arlington’s customers and support staff,
and we’ve already received positive feedback on the new wagering terminals. The installation was
the culmination of six months’ planning as well as the dedication of dozens of United Tote
employees who worked long hours to ensure the successful conversion to our systems. We look
forward to serving Arlington Park and its customers for years to come.”
To ensure that our customers are receiving the proper payoffs for their winning wagers,
Arlington’s mutuel department will be manually double checking results of the first few races as
each new track comes online.
The rest of Arlington Park’s grandstand building will be converted to United Tote before the
track opens for its 90-day meet on Friday, May 4, at which time Arlington Park will unveil its
FastBet Mobile wagering platform which will allow customers to make bets from their smart phone
or tablet from wherever they are at within the facility.
Arlington Park – the Chicago area’s premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington
Heights, Ill. – will run a 90-day meet in 2012 from Friday, May 4 through Sunday, Sept. 30.
